About Terry Pratchett
Sir Terence David John Pratchett (1948–2015) was an English writer celebrated for his humor and satire. His signature achievement was Discworld, a sequence of 41 comic fantasy novels released between 1983 and 2015; The Colour of Magic stands among his notable works. He also teamed up with Neil Gaiman on Good Omens (1990), a comedy about the apocalypse.
Pratchett's writing earned him more than a dozen honors, among them the Carnegie Medal, the Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize, the Margaret Edwards Award, and an honorary doctorate. He was also appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire and made a Knight Bachelor.
