About George W. Bush
George Walker Bush is an American former politician and businessman who also served as an officer in the United States Air Force. He held the presidency of the United States as its 43rd occupant, from 2001 until 2009.
A Republican, Bush governed Texas from 1995 to 2000 before reaching the White House. He is the oldest son of George H. W. Bush, who had earlier held the presidency as the nation's 41st chief executive. Over the years he has received more than 30 honors and decorations from governments and organizations around the world, and his wife is Laura Bush.
