“Sometimes we have to say I'm sorry even when we've done nothing wrong. You may find yourself immersed in a conflict with someone who blames you for something. While this person's finger-pointing may have more to do with his or her emotional state than it has to do with you, there is something to be said for saying you're sorry anyway. That doesn't mean you believe it's your fault. In your mind, it can simply mean that you are sorry your friend or loved one is suffering. Empathy is really all that's needed.”
