A character trips on the threshold, nearly face‑planting, and the narrator rolls her eyes. Later, a playful debate about “God’s gift to women” turns into a joke about chocolate, Midol and tampons. Bold, edgy lines about power and desire also appear, like a fierce warning and a vivid description of a red front door that makes the speaker smile.
