About Richard Gere
Richard Tiffany Gere is an American actor who started his film career in the 1970s with a supporting part in Looking for Mr. Goodbar (1977) and a starring role in Days of Heaven (1978). He rose to stardom with the 1980 film American Gigolo, which made him a leading man and a sex symbol. His later movies include An Officer and a Gentleman (1982), Pretty Woman (1990), First Knight (1995), and Hachi: A Dog's Tale (2009). He earned a Golden Globe Award for his performance as Billy Flynn in the musical Chicago (2002).
