About James Joyce
James Joyce was an Irish novelist, poet and literary critic who played a major role in the modernist movement. His 1922 novel Ulysses re‑imagines the episodes of Homer’s Odyssey using many styles, especially stream of consciousness. Other well‑known books include the short‑story collection Dubliners, the novel A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, and Finnegans Wake. He also wrote two books of poetry, a play, letters and occasional journalism.
