About Georgette Heyer
She married mining engineer George Ronald Rougier in 1925 and spent several years living in Tanganyika Territory and Macedonia before returning to England in 1929. Her novel These Old Shades became popular even during the General Strike, leading her to believe that publicity was not needed for good sales. Heyer never gave interviews, once saying that her private life concerned only herself and her family.
