About Dwight L. Moody
Moody, also known as D. L. Moody, was linked to Keswickianism and established the Moody Church, Northfield School, Mount Hermon School in Massachusetts, the Moody Bible Institute, and Moody Publishers. He left a successful boot‑and‑shoe business to serve as a revivalist, first helping Union troops through the YMCA during the Civil War. In Chicago he built a major evangelical center that still operates today. With singer Ira Sankey he toured the United States and the British Isles, drawing large crowds with his dynamic speaking style. He is remembered for the quote, “Faith makes all things possible… Love makes all things easy.”
