If identification with the larger organization never formalizes, these members are likely to experience stress and anxiety about moving to another chapter (such as after graduation), which can lead to inactivity.10 Maintaining members’ identification with the fraternity after graduation was a vital concern for Alpha Phi Alpha in its early years of existence and remains so today.””
