““The voice would scare the wits out of me. It would make me think I wasn’t good enough. It would make me feel like I was stupid for even believing for a second that I could do it, that I could make my business a success or create a life that I dreamed of living. It would point out all the amazing people out there who were doing incredible things, and then it would make me feel like there was no room for me and my ideas. We all have these voices in our head. I like to call them the ‘Negative Committee.’ Do you sometimes come up with genius ideas and then think to yourself, ‘I could never do that?’ I think we all do. We’re so conditioned to be realistic that when we come up with amazing and crazy exciting dreams, we end up believing we can’t make them a reality because they’re not ‘realistic.’ We overthink and overcomplicate everything. We shoot ourselves down because we think our goals are out of our reach, that we don’t deserve them, or that there are too many challenges in the way.””
