About Lee Smolin

He wrote the 2006 book The Trouble with Physics that criticized string theory. He has contributed to quantum gravity, especially loop quantum gravity, and argues that loop quantum gravity and string theory could be parts of one theory. He also proposes a view called temporal naturalism about space and time. His research interests cover cosmology, elementary particle theory, the foundations of quantum mechanics, and theoretical biology.
