Luigia "Gina" Lollobrigida was an Italian actress, model, photojournalist, and sculptor. She was one of the highest-profile European actresses of the 1950s and 1960s, a period in which she was an international sex symbol and was dubbed "the most beautiful woman in the world". Nicknamed "la Bersagliera" in her country both after her combative character and her role in Bread, Love and Dreams, at the time of her death she was among the last surviving high-profile international actors from the Golden Age of Hollywood cinema.
