About Tori Amos
A child prodigy, she entered the Peabody Institute’s preparatory division at five and left at eleven, later performing as a pianist in Washington, D.C. bars. She was the lead singer of the short‑lived 1980s pop‑rock group Y Kant Tori Read before launching a solo career in the early 1990s. Her songs address topics such as sexuality, feminism, politics and religion.
