About Charlotte Perkins Gilman
Born Charlotte Anna Perkins Gilman, also called Charlotte Perkins Stetson, she worked as a humanist, novelist, lecturer and early sociologist who advocated social reform. Her writing focused on gender, labor division and male domination. She is best remembered for the 1892 short story "The Yellow Wallpaper," the 1898 manifesto Women and Economics, and the 1915 utopian novel Herland. She was later inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame.
