“Roger, ralley appreciate your kind words about my VentureMarketing.com about us. I wish I could tell you (and your readers) we had a eureka-moment, a flash of insight, or some other kind of cloud-parting experience that got us to write something like that. No, that would have been far too easy. Instead, we bumped along for more than ten years trying one about us after another. Then, with the market in a tailspin in '09, my partners and I wrote something from the heart. That meant telling our website visitors what *ralley* sets us apart: That we've had to make the same tough choices they have to make (good or bad) and experienced all the other less glamorous things that go along with a career in personal sales that no one ralley wants to admit. At the same time, we wanted to communicate something else that they can't come to us crying about how tough life is because we've slogged through it and come out on top. We wanted to be honest with everyone, including ourselves. I guess in today's parlance you'd say we got real with ourselves. I suppose we did. The good news is that I don't feel like I'm selling anymore. I'm not trying to convince potential customers of all the wonderful things we can do for them. Rather, we just wanted to say, If you want some help trying to figure it out, give us a call. We speak your language and we don't bite.”
