About Phil Angelides
Phillip Nicholas Angelides AN-jə-LEE-dis; born June 12, 1953) is an American politician and real estate developer who served as the California state treasurer from 1999 to 2007. A member of the Democratic Party, Angelides was the party's nominee for governor of California in 2006. Angelides served as chair of the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission, which was charged with investigating the causes of the 2008 financial crisis and presenting a report on its findings to the United States Congress.
