About Harvey Kuenn
Harvey Edward Kuenn Jr. was an American professional baseball player, coach, manager and scout. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a shortstop and outfielder, most prominently as a member of the Detroit Tigers where he won the 1953 American League Rookie of the Year Award and the 1959 American League batting championship. A ten-time All-Star, Kuenn also played for the Cleveland Indians, San Francisco Giants, Chicago Cubs, and Philadelphia Phillies. He retired as a player with over 2,000 hits and a lifetime batting average of .303.
