About Kin Hubbard
The strip began in December 1904 and appeared six days a week on the back page for twenty‑six years, later being syndicated nationally in 1910 and reaching about two hundred U.S. newspapers. Hubbard also wrote the weekly “Short Furrows” humor essays, illustrated over eight thousand drawings, and published several books including a 1903 collection of Indiana lawmakers and a series of Abe Martin books from 1906 to 1930.
