About David Cameron
David William Donald Cameron, Baron Cameron of Chipping Norton, is a British politician. He was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 2010 to 2016, leading the first coalition government since 1945 until 2015. He resigned after a referendum that supported the country leaving the European Union. Cameron later served as Foreign Secretary from 2023 to 2024 under Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. He led the Conservative Party from 2005 to 2016 and was Leader of the Opposition from 2005 to 2010. He was MP for Witney from 2001 to 2016 and entered the House of Lords in November 2023. He describes himself as a one‑nation conservative with economically and socially liberal views. As of 2026, he is the most recent prime minister to complete a full term.
