About Charlie Kaufman
Kaufman began his career writing for television before moving into movies. He frequently worked with directors Spike Jonze and Michel Gondry, creating cult classics such as Being John Malkovich (1999), Adaptation (2002) and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004). He later directed his own features, including Synecdoche, New York (2008), the stop‑motion film Anomalisa (2015) and I’m Thinking of Ending Things (2020). In 2020 he also published a novel titled Antkind. Critics often describe his style as postmodern and surreal, and some call him an auteur.
