God is eternal, and to have eternity is to have a life that is shared with God, which is the state of the saved. Those who lose out—and Maurice was very clear that we need to warn ourselves that we might lose out—cannot have anything eternal. They have cut themselves off from God and are missing eternity. The contrast is thus between those who have eternal life, the life with God, and those who may lise eternal life, life with God.””
