“The shortest verse in the Bible is popularly regarded as John 11:35 Jesus wept, but it's not! At least, not by word count; it IS by character count. The shortest verse by word count is actually a tie between John 11:35 & 1 Thes 5:16 Rejoice evermore. From the 31,173 total number of verses in the Bible, these 2 verses are the only ones with as few as 2 words. Isn't it neat that these 2 verses which share such a unique characteristic that no other of the 31,169 verses do, could not be more abstract in meaning than they are. Jesus wept & Rejoice evermore ..one of weeping, the other of rejoicing, are total antonyms in context.
