About Nainoa Thompson
Charles Nainoa Thompson is an American navigator and the president of the Polynesian Voyaging Society. He is the first native Hawaiian to practice traditional Polynesian navigational methods since the 14th century, having crewed two double-hulled canoes across the Polynesian islands without the aid of Western instruments.
