About Cindy Sheehan
Her son, Army Specialist Casey Sheehan, was killed in the Iraq War. In August 2005 she set up a makeshift camp outside President George W. Bush's Texas ranch, drawing both support and criticism. She ran for Congress in 2008 but was not elected. She later criticized President Barack Obama's foreign policy and wrote the 2006 memoir Peace Mom. In a 2017 interview she still opposed Bush and also condemned Donald Trump's militarism.
