[Wikipedia] Alexander Ramsey Thompson Jr. (1793–1837) was an American soldier. He was a graduate of the West Point Military Academy, who fought in the War of 1812, Black Hawk War, and the Second Seminole War. Thompson was killed by Seminole Indians at the Battle of Lake Okeechobee in Florida in 1837.
