“As children, we said no, we rebelled, we had temper tantrums and meltdowns. We tested our limits. Our parents' limits. All limits. As parents, we set limits, we say no, we wipe tears, wait for the tantrums and meltdowns to pass, and teach our children right from wrong. It takes patience and discipline to not let the emotional anger and frustration we feel manifest itself in physical anger against our children through spanking, or even just gripping their forearms just a little to tight. To make them feel physically what we feel emotionally. By finding non-violent ways to discipline inappropriate behavior, we honor ourselves and our children.
