About Wayne Dyer
He earned a bachelor’s degree in History and Philosophy, a master’s in psychology and an Ed.D. in Guidance and Counseling from Wayne State University in 1970. After working as a high‑school guidance counselor and running a private therapy practice, he taught counselor education at St. John’s University. His first book, Your Erroneous Zones (1976), launched a career that produced 20 more best‑selling titles and PBS specials. Influenced by Abraham Maslow and Albert Ellis, his early work focused on motivation, self‑actualization and assertiveness. In the 1990s he turned to spirituality, inspired by Swami Muktananda and New Thought, and collaborated with Deepak Chopra.
