About Saint Francis de Sales
He was a Savoyard prelate who served as Bishop of Geneva from 1602 to 1622. His deep faith and gentle handling of religious divisions after the Protestant Reformation made him respected. He wrote the Introduction to the Devout Life and the Treatise on the Love of God, and he was canonized in 1665.
