About Rabindranath Tagore
Tagore was also a playwright, composer, philosopher and social reformer. His work spanned poetry, stories, music and painting, and he is remembered as a leading figure of the Bengal Renaissance. In 1913 he won the Nobel Prize, becoming the first Indian and Asian to receive the award.
