Philipp Meyer is an American fiction writer and author of the novels American Rust and The Son. He has also published short stories in The New Yorker, created and produced the AMC television series based on his novel, was a finalist for the 2014 Pulitzer Prize, won the 2014 Lucien Barrière prize and the 2015 Prix Littérature-Monde prize in France, and was named a Chevalier in France's Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 2017.
