About Marcus Aurelius
Marcus Aurelius Antoninus was a Roman emperor from 161 to 180 and a Stoic philosopher. He also served as consul three times, in 140, 145 and 161. He belonged to the Nerva–Antonine dynasty and was the last ruler later called one of the Five Good Emperors. He was the final emperor of the Pax Romana, a period of relative peace and stability that began in 27 BC and ended with his death in 180 AD.
