About Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
He identifies as a principlist and nationalist. Ahmadinejad served on the Expediency Discernment Council and strongly supported Iran's nuclear program. He led the Alliance of Builders of Islamic Iran, a coalition of conservative groups. Before becoming president, he was mayor of Tehran from 2003 to 2005, where he reversed many of his predecessor's reforms.
