About Jean-Luc Godard
He rose as a pioneer of the French New Wave together with filmmakers such as François Truffaut, Agnès Varda, Éric Rohmer and Jacques Demy, and is often called the most influential French filmmaker of the post‑war era because his movies experimented with story, sound, continuity and camera work.
