About James Frey
He is also a businessman. His first two books, A Million Little Pieces (2003) and My Friend Leonard (2005), were bestsellers marketed as memoirs, but large parts were later found to be exaggerated or fabricated, causing a media controversy. In 2008 he published the novel Bright Shiny Morning, which also became a bestseller.
