About Haruki Murakami
Born on January 12, 1949, Murakami writes both fiction and nonfiction that have reached best‑seller lists in Japan and abroad. His novels include Norwegian Wood, The Wind‑Up Bird Chronicle, Kafka on the Shore, 1Q84, Killing Commendatore and What I Talk About When I Talk About Running. His books have been translated into 50 languages and have sold millions of copies worldwide. Over his career he has received more than twenty awards, such as the Gunzo Prize for New Writers, the Tanizaki Prize, the Yomiuri Prize for Literature, the World Fantasy Award, the Franz Kafka Prize, the Jerusalem Prize and the Princess of Asturias Literary Prize.
