About Garrison Keillor

Gary Edward “Garrison” Keillor is an American author, singer, humorist, voice actor, and radio personality. He created and hosted the Minnesota Public Radio show A Prairie Home Companion from 1974 to 2016. Keillor invented the fictional Minnesota town Lake Wobegon, which appears in books such as Lake Wobegon Days and Leaving Home: A Collection of Lake Wobegon Stories. He also created the detective character Guy Noir for the show’s comedy skits. In addition, Keillor produces the five‑minute daily program The Writer’s Almanac, which pairs poems with stories about notable events that happened on each calendar date.
