About Eudora Welty
Welty earned the Pulitzer Prize in 1973 for her novel The Optimist's Daughter and also received the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Order of the South. She was the first living author published by the Library of America, and her home in Jackson, Mississippi, is a National Historic Landmark that operates as a house museum.
