About Doris Lessing

Born to British parents in Qajar Iran, she lived there until age six in 1925 before moving to Southern Rhodesia, and later to London in 1949. Her notable works include The Grass Is Singing (1950), the Children of Violence series (1952–1969), The Golden Notebook (1962), The Good Terrorist (1985), and the Canopus in Argos series (1979–1983).
