About Buzz Aldrin
Buzz Aldrin, a former fighter pilot and aeronautical engineer, flew as pilot of the Gemini 12 mission in 1966, completing three spacewalks. In 1969 he served as the Lunar Module Eagle pilot for Apollo 11, becoming the second human to step onto the Moon after Neil Armstrong. Following the deaths of Armstrong in 2012 and Michael Collins in 2021, Aldrin remains the last surviving Apollo 11 crew member and, as of 2025, the oldest living astronaut.
