About Bill Nye
He was born in Washington, D.C., worked as a mechanical engineer for Boeing in Seattle where he invented a hydraulic resonance suppressor tube for 747 airplanes, and left the company in 1986 to write and perform comedy on the local sketch show Almost Live!, where he did playful science experiments.
