About Bell Hooks
She was best known for her books and articles about race, feminism and social class, and for showing how race, capitalism and gender can create and sustain systems of oppression. Her ideas helped shape the modern concept of intersectionality. Over her career she published nearly forty books and many scholarly articles, writing in forms ranging from essays and poetry to children’s literature, and she addressed topics such as love, art, history, sexuality and mass media.
