“I offer not pity, platitudes, or sympathy; for I respect those I care for far to much to do such things. I offer a shoulder, wisdom, and a beautiful path that can make any life exquisite. Will they dare walk it? Not my call. Only they can decide. Do we wallow in misery or beauty? Do we allow fear to ruin our lives or do we embrace courage and live well? I made my choice years ago, and it made even my hideous life wonderful. I do all I can. When I see they have given up, or will not make the effort for themselves, I sadly have to walk away knowing there is nothing I can do. And as I do, I do so proud I was a true friend, I dared tell the truth, and fought to aid them out of the darkness. I can do nothing more.”
