“They did want me to get in shape for a particular scene, as opposed to me getting in character mentally before we shot. I had to get in character physically. For the pilot, I knew the character was a football player so I wanted to bulk up and gain as much weight as possible. So, I put on about twenty pounds. For one scene, they wanted me to be toned so I lost about thirty pounds. It was kind of an extreme experience.”
