I want a simple life, I don't want to be in the spotlight.' Finally, a dear friend said to me, 'Why, when you believe that everything in life happens for a reason, and that everything will lead you to where you need to go, do you ignore this one thing that keeps knocking on your door?' And I gave all these really legitimate reasons. 'Oh, well, it's a very shallow industry. It perpetuates a negative image for women. It's this and it's that, and I don't want any part of it.' And, he looked me in the eye and said, 'I think that's bull. I think you're afraid of your own success, and your strength and your power.'”
