About Michael Morpurgo
His stories often feature magical storytelling, outsiders who triumph, survival, and characters who love nature. He sets his books in places like the Cornish coast and the trenches of the First World War. From 2003 to 2005 he served as the third Children’s Laureate, and he is President of BookTrust, a charity that promotes reading for children.
