About Joe Bean
Joseph William Bean was an American shortstop in Major League Baseball. He played for the New York Giants in 1902. He also coached the Atlanta Athletic Club basketball team, helping to introduce basketball to the South. The team won Southern basketball championships, beginning in 1914 when the team defeated Columbus YMCA.
