About Harry Browne
Harry Edson Browne was an American writer, libertarian political activist and investment advisor. He was the Libertarian Party’s nominee for U.S. president in 1996 and again in 2000, campaigning on a platform that called for ending the federal income tax, privatizing Social Security, ending the war on drugs and sharply reducing the size and scope of government. Browne wrote twelve books that together sold more than two million copies; his 1973 work How I Found Freedom in an Unfree World outlined a plan for personal liberty through self‑reliance. He promoted personal freedom, limited government and voluntary cooperation through his writings and public appearances.
