About Grover Norquist
He is a Republican and the main promoter of the Taxpayer Protection Pledge, which lawmakers sign to oppose any increase in marginal income tax rates for individuals or businesses and to reject cuts to deductions or credits without a matching tax rate reduction. Before the November 2012 election, 95% of Republican members of Congress and all but one presidential candidate had signed the pledge.
