She is the author of six books, including the biography The Woman Who Knew Too Much and the memoir Insomniac. She has also co-edited anthologies of writing by feminist literary scholars, including The Woman's Part: Feminist Criticism of Shakespeare and Making a Difference: Feminist Literary Criticism.
