William Butler Yeats writes that time can make beauty appear again, like a child reaching for cold stone and water. He describes love as a deep twilight where hearts beat together and hair falls over a breast, and he says tragedy is part of living. He also notes that God can love a person for themselves alone, not for any external trait.
